RISCOS Ltd boss Paul Middleton has called on for more programmers to make use of the features exclusive to RISC OS 4 after 500 copies of Adjust were apparently sold in a year.
He said: "In the past year nearly 500 sets of Adjust ROMs have been sold. This now gives RISC OS software developers the sound user base from which to justify the inclusion of RISC OS Select and Adjust features into their products."
Programmers have to subscribe to RISC OS Select in order to get the latest technical documentation on ROL's stream of the operating system. Third party developers have also complained that not enough punters are using the latest versions of the OS - if applications will only run or work on the most up to date copies of RISC OS, then sales won't be as high as they could be.
• Select subscribers wondering where Select 4 is should pester Chris Evans, who is overseeing the distribution of A9homes.
He told punters this week: "The next release of the A9home version of RISC OS is in the queue ahead of Select 4, finishing it is taking longer than hoped but as much of that is bug fixes/new features which will be in Select 4 you will be benefiting."
