Software publishers R-Comp have rolled out updates for a number of their Internet-related packages this month - including chat client Grapevine, which reportedly locked punters out of nattering to pals electronically on MSN and ICQ, prior to last week's update. The new version of GV, namely 2.12, is expected to address problems with the two instant messaging networks.
R-Comp told its users: "Due to various changes to the MSN and ICQ protocols, we have encountered a few difficulties with logins recently, so we have updated Grapevine accordingly to resolve things. We have also tracked a session timeout problem with MSN.
"We'd like to thank users for their continued support of the various R-Comp products that we develop/sell, without which we wouldn't be able to fund the on-going updates to GV etc."
As well as the GV update, the company shipped NetFetch version 3, and DialUp version 4, to its users. The upgrade prices for the two packages are also set to rise in 2007, according to R-Comp.
• VirtualAcorn released a free update to VirtualRiscPC earlier this month. Suitable for all VRPC users, the fix addresses problems found when running RISC OS 6 and other faults reported by users.
