A collection of RISC OS printer drivers written by Jonathan Briggs is now available for all to freely download from the information superhighway. The software can be used to drive printing kit made by Epson and HP, and was previously available by dropping Jonathan a friendly email.
It's understood Jon spent many years developing the drivers, which support high resolution and high quality output via the standard RISC OS !Printers system - although they are not quite photo-quality. The author is said to be no longer actively developing these drivers and is unable to provide any support.
The drivers can control Epson models SC860, SC900, SC980, and HP models DJ690, DJ695, DJ815, DJ870, DJ880, DJ890, DJ895, the DJ900 series, 1120C, 1220, 1700, 3820, 3822, 5550, 5552, 5650, 5850, 6122, 7550, 7960, 9300, BI1200, OJ710, OJ750, OJ1150, OJD145, OJD155, OJG55, OJG85, OJR65, PSM1000v3, PSM1000v5, PSM1215v4, PSM1218v3, PSM1218v5 and PSM1315.
• Richard Darby has released a PostScript 2 printer definition file for Brother duplex printers. It supports automatic double-sided printing, flipping the paper on either the long or short sides, from both the main paper tray and the multi-purpose tray. Downloaded it from here.
