And Image Outliner. R-Comp's ex-Iota title promises updates

You might call us impudent (us? never!) but could software publishers R-Comp be taking a page from APDL/ProAction/whatever-next's book by playing the software acquisition game in an attempt to further broaden their already considerable software stock pile? Maybe they finally got jealous of APDL's product list and decided Iota's Datapower 2 database software would be an ideal killer app to have on their shelves. Maybe they just want to publish and maintain a worthy and praised RISC OS database system. Either way, like we said, R-Comp have sweeped up various rights to Datapower, Iota's database software that features full relational capability, SQL queries, scripting and highly configurable search result presentation.

R-Comp logo"As of 7th February 2003, R-Comp is pleased to announce the completion of arrangements to take on the development, sales and support of Iota's famous Datapower 2 database, as well as their Image Outliner", R-Comp's press release hooray's. "...If you need to store information on file, and search/sort/manipulate it on RISC OS, you want to be using Datapower!"

Like, totally! R-Comp want to first make Datapower 2 32 bit compatible then move onto developing Datapower 2, "subject to continued interest in the product". 26 bit versions of Datapower 2 are in stock, we're told. Also, Image Outliner is Iota's scanned-sprite-to-drawfile converter, another title R-Comp have picked up. Pricing and availability information can be found here.
