DMA enabled IDE, IRQs behaving
After an initial establishing release, the Iyonix Linux project has announced further developments this week. A recent release features the following improvements:
- Fully working IDE with DMA enabled by default
- IRQs fully working (no need to move the USB card)
- Plus, various other minor improvements
The project, which is still in its early stages, is currently distributing version 2.4.19-rmk7-ds3-pn1 of the Linux kernel for the XScale powered Iyonix hardware. Users are recommended to thoroughly read through the documentation on the project's website before trying out the Iyonix Linux port as there are a few issues users need to be aware of.
We're told a suitable Debian distribution for the Iyonix is in the works.
