Email received Sat,04 Jun 2005.11:52:06 from Peter Naulls --------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the next few days, I expect to receive my US immigration visa, followed by a move to the US in August. This is in order to pursue a real job, meet family requirements, and enjoy significantly larger income than I could ever hope to get out of doing RISC OS work, as well as attempt to recoup the significant costs I've incurred by pursing so much RISC OS work in the past few years. Obviously this will greatly reduce the amount of time I can spend on the project, and the most tedious and time consuming part of which is administration - pursuing and maintaining subscriptions, collecting money, etc. The latter part will of course be quite tricky from another country. As such, I'm after someone to fill this role. I've already discussed this with at least one person, but of course I need to make a responsible choice by considering various people on a variety of merits. The correct person will: - Be familiar with at least some of the basic technical aspects of the project. - Have a small amount of free time in order to purse adminstration duties - a few hours a weekend is probably sufficient - but it must be regular. - Represent the project at most or all of the UK RISC OS shows, and possibly some user groups. - Collect subscriptions, and send out subscription reminders. This will include pledges for Firefox, and burning CDs. - Be able to show initiative when I'm not available to provide direction. This might include marketing, or any other activities you care to dream up. Naturally, the person in question will receive some portion of all subscriptions for their time, and some (greater proportion) for all show sales, as well as reasonable expenses. I have some ideas for figures for the above, but I'd like to hear your proposals. If you think this is you, then please send me (not the list) your proposal for dealing with the project administration at unix [at] chocky [dot] org. This ought to be 200-300 words, and you can treat it as a job interview questionaire if that helps you. Enthusiasm is important, but I must make the final decision based upon the professionalism and comprehensiveness of your proposal.
