The podule interface is twice as fast, and lacks DMA. Yes, updating drivers is a good idea, but a PCI card can go a lot faster.
knutson: You missed an important part of what I wrote. The number of people who might be able to write PCI drivers for the Omega could potentially be very small. So yes, what you say could be true, but not very significant.
