The issue of all files for an app in one places isn't really here nor there with regards to this.

The real issues, which RiscPkg attempts to adddress, are dependencies (which are genuine on RISC OS, despite some attempts to gloss over them), version checking (RISC OS apps are widespread, and it's not always obvious where to get the latest version), and automatic installation (easy on RISC OS, but that doesn't mean it can't be easier).

As I said on OSNews, once this system is in place, I expect people will begin to see the benefits. Just because you think a certain feature is of no use to you, doesn't mean it's not extremely important to other, less experienced RISC OS users.
