This is excellent news. If this is going to happen, then I hope they go back to the drawing board and think about this from stratch - there's plenty of inspiration available. Linux has several filing systems capable of storing files, quickly, up to terabytes in size. Also, the new WinFS system for <shudders> Windows XP 'Longhorn' is actually very impressive, and I certainly wouldn't complain if a similar database system were used on RISC OS. It can search files in mere seconds on any field reference - outstanding.
I hope something good really does come from this, and it'll give me yetanother reason to upgrade.
