The problem with this hardware donation is that people donate junk that the charity can't sell (eg dot matrix printers) so at great expense the charity stand has to dispose of it with regard to the computer waste regulation which costs money. I can imagine in the near future people will simply dump old kit in the streets and let the council sort it out. Maybe the charity stand will start up again if people promise only to give them decent quality items.
