VirtualAcorn: "I'm a bit confused as to how you encourage companies to exhibit"
For most RISC OS shows, this has been done by contacting relevant companies about the event directly. This helps to keep the event at the forefront of potential exhibitors' minds, and also encourages them to make a firm decision sooner rather than later. In some cases companies have needed to be contacted quite a few times before confirming they'll turn up. In a perfect world this wouldn't be necessary, but RISC OS companies do have plenty of competing priorities.
Obviously this process takes a fair bit of time and a little money, but it should be worth it. In this instance a quick phone call may even provide an opportunity for a meeting of the minds with certain exhibitors who don't hear from RISCOS Ltd very often
There are already exhibitors and indeed user groups putting effort into making sure potential visitors are aware of these events, so it really is worth making the extra effort with exhibitors.
"I would certainly encourage the Association of Acorn User Groups (AAUG) to attend)"
Thank you for the encouragement. The AAUG is in a different position from most potential exhibitors, in that it doesn't exist to sell things and thus is never in a position to make a profit from these events, or even to cover the costs involved. So the AAUG only attends a proportion of shows. If it's practical to be there then I will be. In any case there will be people from various user groups on various companies' stands, in addition to The ARM Club of course.
