RISC OS in native ARM should be faster than Linux on ARM but RISC OS give away this advantage with technical drawbacks. Blocking I/O, No Multitasking, No virtual memory. Linux on ARM/MIPS/Power PC are going to be more than powerful enough for an STB so in summary the answer is "No"
