I bought my first "Acorn" because I wanted some tasks to be accomplished. In my case I wanted an affordable DTP system which did the things that I needed it to do. The A5000 back then deliverd it. The system was fast, more or less stable and had the applications/tools that I needed to perfom DTPwork.
Now I understand the 2 paths that are being walked by ROS and CTL with regards to the OS. But basic functionality is the same on both versions. So most application software runs on both versions. Now I think that we currently need more and better application software (at affordable prices).
So please stop all this fuzz about which RISCOS from which company. Let both CTL and ROS do their respective job (especially since they both appear to be doing good things albeit independantly from each other). And lets do something on the end-user application front!
Because no matter how good (or bad) your OS is, if you got no apps the whole things just fails.
