Yes, good point. That would also allow the ArtWorks rendering modules to run, which make use of non-aligned loads/stores. Of course, fixing the code will make it run a lot quicker, but it is very difficult to find all places in a program where unaligned loads/stores may be used, so it is important to have a fallback mechanism.
