Flurry of good news, of late.

But theres an issue; considering we now have 4.02 available for £5 and hopefully an immanent release from ROOL gratis, there should be some outside interest developed.

Consider this, you see a news item on some tech website, you follow the links and end up on either riscos.com or iyonix.com. Bad start, very bad start. Trying to find anything from either is a pretty big job.

Assuming you get past this point and manage to make some sense of the scene, you discover that the available options for OS are as follows,

4.02 4.39 5.14 5i1 6.14

None of which are considered obsolete, most of which are interelated in the most ridiculous fashion. Oh, and they aren't in chronological order.

So, an idea or two. Firstly that the old websites, esp. riscos.com, is given a good going over - or redirects you to a new index page with links to the clear options. Ideally both parties could agree on a collective front website which would link back to them.

Secondly, that the current numbering is ditched. I.e. "RISC OS 5.14" becomes RISC OS Iyonix 1.14; RISC OS OPEN is known, when released, as RISC OS OPEN version 1 Clear up the confusion over 6 and Select by dropping one name or the other, ideally distinguishing it as an 'enhanced' version - a sort of Windows Vista Ultimate for 4.39 users.

We really need that one page which links to them all in a clear and distinguishable way, and for them to have clear and distinguishable names.
