Without meaning to belittle Jeffrey's efforts, I think he's shown that you don't need years of experience of developing RISC OS 5 to be able to port it to new hardware - something that wouldn't have have had the same impact if one of us at ROOL had done the port.

That demonstration is really valuable, because hopefully it will encourage new developers to come forward, and so maybe, yes, we can look forward to having a wide choice of hardware on which to run RISC OS. We're already beginning to see the number of developers getting involved rise - and with luck it will keep on snowballing.

After all, compared to 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago, there is now a huge selection of ARM chips available that are capable of delivering a decent RISC OS experience - ARM's traditional embedded market no longer has to mean low performance.
