Exactly, the Iyonix, made of standard components, was the quickest route to market, while the Omega is a much more flexible design, wich took a lot more time to develop.

So you can choose: Get an Iyonix now, if you want a fast (but slightly incompatible) machine now, wich will never be faster than it currently is. Get an Omega within a few days or weeks (depending on your position in the queue) if you want a very flexible machine wich has the potential to get faster and additional hardware-features over time.
