When I had TW Broadband installed, the guy just need to know my Ethernet card's MAC address. DHCP then gave the IP and he checked he could get to telewest's homepage in a browser. Easy. Now, can you write instructions to do that which will apply to every RISC OS box? No. People have all sorts of weird internet setups, dialup weirdnesses, browsers of at least 4 different flavours in random places on their drives. Nightmare for the poor grunt from Telewest who has to install. Until RISC OS users "abide" by standard places for putting things like windoze/mac users have, we can't really expect Telewest to cope with us. Now, perhaps R-Comp or someone could come up with a boxed solution which DID install browser in a fixed location and set other stuff up suitably for installing broadband -- work with Telewest -- but then Telewest would "have" to support the Linux camp (they currently "Put up" with linux users, but only install on doze/mac). It's all a question of economics for Telewest/whoever. What's worth their while?
