Vigay uses WinCE iPaq

It's funny, laugh

Ok, so we're a little late on the Paul Vigay photoshop competition - but we've got a more shocking revelation to tell. Our platform's favourite advocate and known Microsoft hater recently revealed that not only does he own an X-Box, but also a WindowsCE powered PDA. Here's the scoop:

Satirical spoof of Paul Vigay

"I've got an iPAQ 5550 (and yes it does run Windross and does need resetting frequently, however, it was the fastest/highest spec PDA around when I bought it)," Paul admitted last weekend. Gasp.

I bought a Sharp Zaurus, can't say that it's any better than something running WinCE, but having a linux console is handy sometimes, if I bought an XBox it'd run linux too.

Shocking news indeed ;)

My own experience with an iPAQ H5550 has been pretty disastrous. Windows XP is great in comparison to PocketPC 2003 (why is it so difficult to close a running program, for example?) and the hardware seems to have real issues too (if you don't recharge it constantly you have to reset the machine).

In my opinion, this is a clear case where "highest spec" does not translate into functionality!

Work has provided me with an iPaq h4100, the unit has nice facilities, but the user interface :( :( :(- microsoft have excelled themselves in poor design. Win 3.x looks good in comparison.

A RISC OS style front end would transformthe thing. (Real RISC OS would be even better.)

What would the point of buying an XBox to run Linux on be, other than to demonstrate that you're quite able to utterly waste money?

I understood that Microsoft subsidised XBoxen, so isn't buying the console and chipping it a good way of getting a cheap linux box?

It depends if it's the right spec for you - there's no point in buying an xbox if you then have to go out and buy a more powerful PC to do anything useful. But if that's not the case, for the money you are getting rather a lot of hardware (albeit in an ugly box).

And not actually a very good framebuffer for 2D work. And having to put a non-puny drive in it. And faffing with keyboards. And stuff. When you can buy a 'real' PC, complete with 17" CRT for less than 200 quid, why bother?

Toothache ? No. I think his confession is "tongue in cheek".

It may be just me, but since this PV campaign started I keep thinking that strangers on the street are PV.

Is he being clonned big time somewhere ?

Yes Martin, he is. And those guys on the street think you're him too.

He had to get that iPAQ thing, cause it aids him when researching Microscoft and certain 'marks' while being not at HQ.

Thing is, we need guys like him to solve certain 'mysteries' so some secretive orginization has decided to clone him to advance the puzzle solving. And last I heard David Icke has gone 'beyond' now, so there.
