Cerilica announce major RiScript developement: Font handling and better portability for PDFs By Chris Williams. Published: 30th Nov 13:26:14 | Permalink | Printable The PDF and Postscript creator application RiScript has today has be re-released with its publishers, Cerilica, claiming the release is the largest development for RiScript since they obtained the exclusive rights to publish RISC OS' leading PDF and PostScript product.
Now at the dizzying heights of version 4.10, RiScript can now convert RISC OS fonts to Type 1 fonts, allowing a wider range of non-RISC OS PDF viewers to handle PDFs generated using RISC OS. PDF files are generally informative documents that can be viewed on any computer system, provided a PDF viewer is available. PDFs are becoming increasing popular as more companies around the world turn to the PDF format to present and transfer technical information. As well as creating and editting PDFs, RiScript is happy to render and display any PDF, PostScript or EPS document. Standard RISC OS drawfiles can be saved out and various printing options are catered for as well.
"RiScript allows users to view PDF and PostScript files from any source, such as the standard RISC OS printer driver, and base PDF documents on these", Cerilica's marketing director Nicholas van der Walle explains. "Its simplicity in use has been very well received by the numerous customers to date."
Along with the RiScript application, customers can expect a comprehensive printed manual, support disc and the usual Cerilica standard. Which is a very high standard indeed, by the way.
