Music player DigitalCD now supports FLAC and Desktop Tracker files... Image viewer and editor PrivateEye 2.75 can now read information embedded in JPEG images (metadata such as EXIF) and caches pictures in memory... Internet search tool Searchy has been bug-fixed and updated.... A new version of RiscOsNet, a peer-to-peer file sharing program, is available... Richard Darby has described on his website how to get Oregano2 working with the recently released WebServe to allow the web browser to cache pages on disc... Rover was released publicly for the first time and allows punters to search for RISC OS programs on the Internet and download new versions...
A new program, 7backup, will produce incremental back ups of files and applications, that is, it only backs up what has changed since the last back up was taken... Calendar tool Calibre has been bug-fixed as have WebGen2 and SuperDoku... StarInfo old favourite Bob Seago is pulling his software from his website so grab it while you can or kindly mirror it if the licences allow...
SDL games icebreaker, sdlroids and gemdropx and download tool wget are now available from the GCCSDK Autobuilder... Free MSN client Parmesan has been updated with various new features and fixes... DrawPrint has been bug-fixed and can convert Unicode fonts into Acorn Latin 1 format... Tim Hill has written a little utility, addeml, for email power users...
Paul Stewart will appear at ROUGOL tomorrow night (Monday, January 21) to talk about his a9home-in-a-flight-case project and the worryingly dormant RISC OS Connect project. Peter Howkins will also be showing off his A7k-in-a-Lego-laptop project... and Mike Carter will give a presentation on website development using RISC OS at the next RONE meeting at 8pm on February 7 here. And finally: Chris Wraight and Fred Graute are pondering working on the RISC OS Open Window Manager to make it support themes while it's rumoured Dave Brown is trying to rewrite the WM module in C...

RISC OS artist wows public with digital artwork A RISC OS-using artist has described exhibiting his digitally-created work in a public gallery as a "rewarding experience". Richard Ashbery, who used ArtWorks and Photodesk to create his images, showed off patterns and colourful illustrations to punters, who told him his work made a change from the oils and watercolour masterpieces usually exhibited.
