A-level results Published: 20th Aug 2001, 01:33:53 | Permalink | PrintableAll three Drobe News Editors took A-levels this year and our results arrived on Thursday It seems like ages ago that I decided to closedown Drobe Launch Pad for a few weeks so that the News Editors could concentrate on revision for A-levels.
Well, the site is running again (on completely new portal software which has taken nearly 6 months to write), we've sat the exams, worried about the results and made contingency plans for failure.
On Thursday morning we learnt our fate and can now reveal that myself, Robin and Chris will all be going to University as planned.
Robin is taking a gap year before university, and travels to Africa in the new year. Currently he is deciding whether or not to accept a place to study Geography at Durham University.
Chris got a C in Maths, a C in Physics and an A in Technology. He has accepted his place at Warwick University and will start in October.
I managed to get a C in Physics, a B in Business Studies and an A in Geography. I got the grades to take my place at Lancaster University to study Business Studies and will also be starting in October.
We would all like to say a great big thank you to everybody who wished us luck or has enquired about how we did. Also, thank you to everybody who managed to survive while the website was down.
I can assure you that we are slowly returning to normal. You may not have seen many changes here over the last few weeks but we’ve been spending a long time tinkering ‘under the bonnet’ as it were.
There are lots and lots of exciting articles in the pipeline, so don’t think that our move to University will stop new articles appearing on Drobe. We just hope that you'll all keep in touch and continue sending us your feedback.
On behalf of Robin, Chris and myself,
Thank you.
