chocky.org at South East Show By Chris Williams. Published: 19th Oct 2002, 13:54:47 | Permalink | PrintableVisit the Unix Porting Project stand. Pre-show hype never felt so good Today, in a press release from chocky.org, winding its way across the internet seeking our hectic mailbox, Peter Naulls of Unix porting fame (yes, him again) informs us that he's sharing a stand with Paul Vigay at the RISC OS South East show, to be held on 2nd November 2002.
Well, yes, we already knew that but dry those tears, Peter has two further bits of top news to announce:
- Doctor RISC OS
- As well as exhibting and discussing software ports and a proposed web browser, all as part of the Unix Porting Project, Peter will be on hand to answer any technical RISC OS related queries you may have.
"..As a public service, we'd like to offer our expertise during quiet moments on our stand by answering technical RISC OS questions - ask us about 32-bit, Internet issues, Programming, or any other RISC OS related question you may have", Peter informs us. "(Absolutely no PC questions please). Since some enquiries can be quite lengthy, we also ask for a small financial contribution for questions taking more than a few minutes to answer."
- Activate the pre-announce machine
- Peter also adds, "I'll also be announcing an exciting new subscription-based project at the show. To find out information about this visit us at the show, or wait for an annoucement shortly after."
We've tried prizing details out of Peter but his lips were sealed. It's going to be a rather crowded show.
Midlands show
Finally before we forget, not long after the South East show, the ARMClub will be hosting the Midlands RISC OS show in Birmingham on the 30th November. drobe.co.uk and the Unix Porting Project also hope to attend the Midlands show.
drobe.co.uk will be attending the South East show to give you the usual live coverage and photos. If you have a stand at either of the shows, feel free to mail us with details so we can let everyone know.

RISC OS artist wows public with digital artwork A RISC OS-using artist has described exhibiting his digitally-created work in a public gallery as a "rewarding experience". Richard Ashbery, who used ArtWorks and Photodesk to create his images, showed off patterns and colourful illustrations to punters, who told him his work made a change from the oils and watercolour masterpieces usually exhibited.
