To scold or not to scoldBy Chris Williams. Published: 15th May 2003, 23:06:24 | Permalink | Printable
"I think you owe him an apology for the comment"Letter A Desk customer earlier today informed us that our article on the Microdigital Alpha was unfair towards the Dutch dealer. Here's our reader's counter argument:

Subject: note at your Alpha message
Dear Chris Williams,
I've read your message about the alpha and found
that you're not fair in your comments towards desk.
I think your systran translations have caused
some disturbing misunderstandings. In his newsdesk,
which i receive being a customer, Frank Kraaij did
not 'scold' Riscstation.
In my translation :
# The RISCOS Portable is here at last, the
# Microdigital one, the Alpha! This product is not
# Riscstations, who have let us all down. The setting
# up and later removal of a smartgroup on internet
# for just the pre-inscribed buyers, has caused them
# more harm then good. Up til today, even us as a
# dealer, nothing more has been told. Withdrawn orders
# however have always been paid back correctly.
I think that Frank said nothing wrong here! In the
same way he tells us customers about the delays
of the Omega.
As Microdigital Europe Frank is a part of
Microdigital, but as desk, frank is a complete
independent dealer, with a lot of order for the
Riscstation Portable in his wallet. He is not
even trying to talk his standing orders for
Riscstation Portable into Alpha.
I think you owe him an apology for the comment.

Fat32FS, a filing system module that allows Iyonix users to use PC-formated USB drives that are over 2GB in size, is now up to version 1.14. Developer Jeff Doggett said he had tidied up the code a bit and corrected a problem with file timestamps after the change to BST.
