Debian swirl logoPeter Naulls' "ARM Linux and Debian ARM Resources" project, a Debian GNU/Linux based OS for RiscPCs and other selected ARM powered computers, will be demonstrating at this weekend's Wakefield show, in Yorkshire, UK.

Up until recently, Debian GNU/Linux for RiscPCs had been unusuable and uninstallable due to lack of maintenance, and Peter was pleased to announce that as a result of work carried out by various ARM Linux developers, "these issues have now been largely addressed (with caveats), and support added for Kinetic machines and RapIDE IDE cards."

More details on the RiscPC install are available from here. Iyonix Linux continues to be improved.

"Debian on RISC OS machines can be used for experimenting, or for development purposes, or as an alternative to purchasing another computer. The facilities provided are very similar to those found on a PC Linux setup," Peter also commented.

ARM Linux CDs, with or without support, and hard discs with Debian pre-installed can be purchased at the show - contact Peter ahead of the show to arrange the specifics of buying pre-installed hard discs.
