Aemulor hypes mystery Guildford project By Chris Williams. Published: 16th Oct 2004, 10:36:00 | Permalink | Printable We like CinoDVD, hint hint The Aemulor team are busy hyping up a new project of theirs, one mysteriously named Geminus. Neil Spellings of Aemulor admitted that it's "not really news", but added "we love a bit of idle speculation". We have no idea what Geminus is, and Neil wants to keep it hush hush until this month's Guildford show. We're a little concerned that it's still Neil and Adrian Lees (the Aemulor programmer) working on Geminus, when um, we thought they were working on Aemulor and, crucially, CinoDVD - which is now late. Now, we'll be the first to praise the development of new software, however we have just one word of advice: prioritisation. Geminus was an astrologer and also a bit of a mathematician, so Geminus could be some new star mapping software, or perhaps a floating point emulator replacement. Either way, it better be good if it's going to trump CinoDVD development. A full port of the latest version of the Mozilla browser that fits into the RISC OS style guide, rendering all web pages better than on a PC or Mac, and runs all the multimedia formats out there. In any case, the browser isn't resposible for "all the multimedia formats out there". Which would certainly fit with the name chrisj on 18/10/04 11:24AM [ Reply | Permalink | Report ] Lol speculation is funny, but we have to be careful that people don't read speculation and then remember it as "someone said maybe" then all of a sudden it's fact after a few more repititions. However I reckon it's a death ray for all PCs.. it'll cause them all to crash and then everyone to go out and buy RISC OS boxes.
