Punters following the World Cup this summer can spur on their favourite team to not only lift the famous golden trophy, but also net them cash off a copy of ArtWorks. MW Software, based out of Kaiserslautern, Germany, where some of the tournament's matches will be played out, is offering discounts on new orders of the popular vector art package - depending on how far your chosen team progress through the biggest football event of the year.
Refunds are promised if your selected team make it to the quarter and semi-finals, and the overall final. If your team manages to win the competition, MW Software will give you back 50% of the ArtWorks 2.6's cover price. Similar offers have been run by STD in the past.
One wag quipped to drobe.co.uk: "So, who's going to change their allegiance in order to get a cheap copy of Artworks, because I reckon your chances with England might be quite slim."
For those not glued to the non-stop coverage of the beautiful game's most important tournament, Germany will play on June 9th, England on June 10th, the Netherlands on June 11th, and Brazil June 13th.
• Version 2.77 of Ovation Pro is now available and makes use of MW Software's continued work to improve the rendering of ArtWorks documents by third party applications. The new ArtWorks applet is here. The end-user support mailing lists used by MW Software and Ovation Pro author David Pilling are now over at freelists.org, here and here.

For once there is a silver lining to being a Scottish football supporter.
Still, I'm not sure how far Trinidad and Tobago are going to get |
