Wakefield 2007 is this Saturday

Full report due after the show

show news motifThis year's Wakefield show is all set for this Saturday in its new venue just outside of the Yorkshire town.

The list of exhibitors is: Joel’s 8-Bit Emporium, The ARM Club, Charity Stall, Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club, JGH BBC Software, Stuart Tyrrell Developments, Serious Statistical Software, Advantage Six Ltd, R-Comp, NetSurf, R-Comp Interactive, Soft Rock Software, MW Software, Virtual Acorn / 3QD, Icon Technology, RISCOS Ltd, RISC OS Now, A.P.D.L., Orpheus Internet Services, The RISC OS Packaging Project, RISC OS Open Ltd, CJE Micro’s, Iyonix Ltd / Castle Technology, Archive Magazine and Qercus.

The event is open from 10.30am to 5pm on Saturday, May 19.

This is an important event on the RISC OS calendar. I hope it is well supported and I look forward to reading all about Wakefield on Drobe (It's a long way from New Zealand).

If you are attending, don't forget to grab at ROOL mouse mat, signup for RISCOS Now (I see the website is updated), purchase some interesting software or hardware, pickup a bargin from the charity stand and smile nicely for the Drobe camera man!

There is a bar though, which I'm sure will be much more enjoyable than presentations of past.

The point with presentations is that they provide some incentive fo the major developers to make themselves accoutnable to the public and to focus on a future for RISC OS.

We would have loved to have had a show theatre with presentations etc.. But there was no room available. It boiled down very, very simply if we had to have a show theatre then there was not a show, without one we could at least run a show. we chose the latter.

In addition a show theatre costs money.

It's a shame there won't be any presentations at this years show, but the meeting at the bar to discuss future software development should be good...
