New PDF output tool on sale Published: 22nd Mar 2008, 10:44:10.Plus, updates to WebWonder and ProCAD+ Programmer David Snell has quietly sneaked out a number of interesting developments, including a new tool that produces PDF documents from RISC OS Draw files. Modest Dave has produced Draw2PDF, a brand new application that does what it says on the tin: it converts vector drawings into PDFs and costs less than 20 quid. He has also updated his technical drawing package ProCAD+ to include a PDF export facility. Punters can request a free upgrade featuring the new PDF output support.
Finally, Dave's website design software WebWonder is now up to version 3. Tables can be nested and there's more control over their appearance, plugin objects can be embedded, colour picking is improved as is the process of publishing files onto the web, links can be given little pop-up titles when a user's pointer hovers over them, some Unicode support, better handling of meta tags, support for PayPal forms, and more. An upgrade costs 25 quid or £79 for a new copy. See the links below for more information. Published: 27 Apr 2009Picture exclusive - This grainy photograph shows a port of RISC OS 5, sourced from the RISC OS Open project, running on a Beagleboard - a device powered by a 600MHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor with a built-in graphics chip. The port, developed by Jeffrey Lee with help from Uwe Kall and ROOL staff, is seen as a major breakthrough for the shared-source project as it proves the OS can be ported to new hardware without the need for a large team of engineers. 75 comments, latest by rjek on 30/4/09 3:15PM.
