RISC OS is about to dock at Port Unix.

Riding high on the gccsdk/unixlib wave, Peter Naulls has now opened the Unix Porting Project for RISC OS. Sign up now and get all the unix ports you've been waiting for - with support!
After much debate, discussion and decision, Peter Naulls has officially launched his Unix Porting Project for all. A paltry £25/6months gets you access to the full stack of programs that Peter has ported, along with support.

The first set of ports should include some much needed apps for RISC OS including full ssh, links (a web browser), wget, ncftp and other hugely useful utilities. These programs run best inside a Nettle ANSITask window.

Peter is also working on porting several X11 programs (X11 is the most common graphical interface for unix). Ports tested so far include Chimera (A web browser), Xpilot, Xeyes and Xterm. These applications, once released, will NOT require an X11 server running on RISC OS (eg Leo White's RiscX) but will run natively under the RISC OS WIMP just like a normal RISC OS application. Fantastic.

For further info, see Peter's Unix page (link below) and sign up right away!

Just as long as all customers get the source as well, and not a link to the sorce of the program which was ported but the source which was used to build the port.

I think you'd better go and give the webpage a closer read... all's explained on there!
