Iyonix compatibility database online By Chris Williams. Published: 25th Nov 2002, 17:39:19.Let's see what works The thought of having to abandon their favourite software is a big fear for RISC OS users hoping to upgrade to a new machine. The Castle Iyonix is a RISC OS machine unlike all others in existance and so one would naturally be worried about old software. A software compatibility database is always a good plan (the Acorn StrongARM upgrade had one, RISC OS 4 has one too) and the announcement of such a listing for the XScale powered Iyonix was inevitable. As pointed out in a press release sent to drobe.co.uk, www.iyonix.com/software/ is now the home to a database that lists Iyonix compatible software and users (or enthusiasts as Castle put it) are welcome to browse the site and check which packages are compatible and which are going to be compatible. RISC OS software developers should contact developers@iyonix.com if they wish to add their products to the current listing.
Also, we're told to expect further announcements about the Iyonix PC in the coming weeks. Links Iyonix compatibility database Discussion Viewing threaded comments | View comments unthreaded, listed by date
