Live Omega Countdown

By Chris Williams. Published: 11th Dec 2002, 02:20:35.

Fingers crossed!

As we say to every reader who asks, we can't be sure when the Omega will be released, however Microdigital have strongly hinted for this Christmas. So seeing as it's the season of good will, light entertainment and curious novelties, we've arranged a special countdown clock so you can count off the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the end of Christmas, by which time the Omega should have been delivered to users - if everthing goes according to Microdigital's plan.

The Omega 2002 Countdown

See it's not so far away, those cold winter days will just fly by. The javascript works on Oregano, Fresco and Internet Explorer. We'll probably make these countdown things a drobe.co.uk regular, much like the iconbar.com polls. What will we think of next?

We recommend you upgrade to Oregano, Fresco or employ some kind of remote desktop util to use IE6 on a PC.

All the other counter suggestions I can think of involve coutning up rather than down:

* Number of UPP subscribers * Hours Chris has gone without sleep * Cups of coffee consumed by Chris * Number of RO machines that have yet to make market

If those count up to quickly, you could always ease the load with something a lot slower, like:

* Number of informed and insightful comments on csa.*

Don't forget: Number of pizzas consumed by Chris.

Liquid Silicon tell me they expect to get one delivered by the middle of next week.

A Omega that is, not a pizza!

And people expected them Xmas 2000, so that doesn't mean much. Please avoid the speculation until someone physically has one.
