drobe.co.uk pilfers elusive Omega By Chris Williams. Published: 30th Mar 2003, 22:04:24.Mine! All mine! And we have the photos to prove it Oh yes, drobe.co.uk has finally got its hands on an Omega and we have all the photos to prove it. With the aid of entai.co.uk, we've been given a thrilling, unique and independent insight into, and brace yourselves, an Omega being lifted out of a box and placed on a table. No less. For contractual legal reasons involving a third party, we cannot go into detail on how we were able to get hold of the Omega.
Over the past month or so, we've been drowning in photos of other Omegas appearing in Germany and we were feeling very left out having witnessed many exciting motherboard, box and case photos. Jules Zimmerle even took pictures of his Omega starting up leaving us to choke on our own jealous rage. But the tables have turned and we can also now bring you yet more photos of a device that's unreleased - an Omega, which incidentally we're told was on its way to Greece.
Behold: an Omega
One of our budding editorial consultants benchmarks the device It goes without saying that no animals or sane people were harmed in this stunt. More photos and details from the links section. Incidentally, another batch of Omega photos from Microdigital's Soest visit can be found here courtesy of Ralf Flessenkamper. Published: 27 Apr 2009Picture exclusive - This grainy photograph shows a port of RISC OS 5, sourced from the RISC OS Open project, running on a Beagleboard - a device powered by a 600MHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor with a built-in graphics chip. The port, developed by Jeffrey Lee with help from Uwe Kall and ROOL staff, is seen as a major breakthrough for the shared-source project as it proves the OS can be ported to new hardware without the need for a large team of engineers. 75 comments, latest by rjek on 30/4/09 3:15PM.
