Wakefield 2003 charity stand confirmed By Chris Williams. Published: 7th Apr 2003, 04:36:09. One man's junk is another's treasure Something of a Wakefield show tradition is the Charity Stand, where people donate computer kit which is then sold off by the WROCC and all proceeds are dispatched to charity. Going by an WROCC announcement today, boasting a large charity stand, this year's event is no different. "The stand has raised over 10,500 pounds for charities over the years, all thanks to your generosity", show organiser Chris Hughes informed us via email. If you're clearing out unwanted RISC OS related stuff and want to donate it to the stand, feel free to wrap it up, mark all packages "For the attention of Terry Rigg - Wakefield 2003 Show" and then deliver by hand or post them to: Wakefield Hospice (Fund Raising) Ltd Hemingway House Thornes Moor Business Park Thornes Moor Road WAKEFIELD WF2 8PG The hospice can accept deliveries between 8:30 am and 4 pm Monday to Friday. I personally remember picking up an A3000 TRM many years ago from a charity stand so you'll be surprised what you find.
