Midlands show venue destroyed By Chris Williams. Published: 16th Sep 2003, 20:01:48 | Permalink | PrintableMotorcycle Museum in flames, event in doubt The National Motorcycle Museum near Birmingham, the venue of this year's RISC OS Midlands show, has been destroyed by fire this evening, according to BBC reports. The fire has wiped out 60% of the building and a spokesperson from the West Midlands Fire Service is quoted as saying, "Most of the roof is involved with the fire".
Luckily, no one is reported to be injured although around 400 bikes were lost.
The apparent extent of fire will more than likely rule out any chance of hosting, well, anything at the site for a long time which means the Midlands show will have to be postponed and, at the very least, relocated to another venue. The show is managed by the ARM Club and was due to be held on the 29th November and would have marked the first anniversary of the first sale of the Castle Iyonix.
