AcornArcade to re-release Cooper classics By Chris Williams. Published: 26th Feb 2004, 14:22:05.Berty games are back on the block "Ixion was originally released in 1992 by Software 42. The game provides a mix of action, role-playing, and puzzle solving, all with some quite tasty looking 3D graphics. The version available here should run fine on anything from a lowly ARM 2 running RISC OS 2 to the latest StrongARM running RISC OS Select", writes 'Arcade hack Jeffrey Lee. "Expect a full list of games which have been freed of their commercial status to appear over the next few days." Having peeked at the games list at the top of this interview, fans of Berty can hopefully look forward to seeing the likes of Wavelength and Hamsters available online, as freeware. Tom's games used to be published by Argo Interactive, who are now Argo Group having spun off their ISP side, Freedom2 (aka Argonet), which was subsequently snapped up by Imparo and who, it turns out, ended up owning Tom's software - deep breath. AcornArcade, once a jewel the crown of the NoughtPointOne empire, was apparently able to clinch their deal with Imparo after Rich Goodwin, a Freedom2 employee, asked nicely. Good stuff. Links AcornArcade's free games - including Ixion and other goodies we hadn't realised were online. Terramex? To the flying ballon!
