Chriswhy - our WebSpell provides an HTML-aware spelling checker (ie. it knows about HTML and understand character entities for top bit set characters) which can be used stand-alone (or as part of HTMLEdit). I suspect this would meet your requirements. Other people's comments about frames, tables and so on are all covered by our Web Designer's Toolkit, and if you're looking for a "solution", HTMLEdit Studio 6 CD includes everything ready to roll including tutorials and so on. It is used in a number of Acorn-schools, so can't be too "hard" and covers things like javascript etc. for the web design companies that use it.
