On Castle move to Cambridge rumoured:

The present form factor of the A9 need not be the only one. I imagine that once the machine is out of beta and on general sale we might well see other, more expandable, cases marketed by someone.

I doubt that the price of such will be very different from the price of Iyonix - particularly if Castle have some slack in the price to be able to drop it a little.

Adjust on 400Mhz

versus

RO5 on 600Mhz

same price?

Maybe that's why Select is bot coming so fast for Iyonix.

On The story behind RiScript 5:

The biggest limitation I have come across with RiScript is that it doesn't (unlike freeware !PDF) display TrueType fonts in PDFs.

Joeren has told me that this is another feature on the shopping list!

On Firefox pledgers hold onto their cash:

*In reply to SimonC*

Peter says quite clearly on his website that if Firefox doesn't work then the pledge doesn't need to be paid.

When, to quote Peter, I "have a version I can use" then I'll pay up quite happily.

Anyway give me a break - I've been back in the country less than a day and playing with Firefox isn't on my list of priorities.

A low-cost computer-controlled Braille board has been prototyped by a RISC OS-using university student. Undergraduate Edward Rogers hopes to sell his completed units for as little as 200 quid each to schools and families to allow more blind children to continue learning Braille. And he said he wanted to launch his venture using RISC OS-powered kit before offering a package for other platforms.

  • Will Wakefield 2009 see a new graphics card for RISC OS?
Speculation is mounting that the Vpod, a mysterious new product pre-announced this week, could be a graphics card on a podule for RiscPC-class machines. Well-placed sources have said that the Vpod is not an April Fools joke despite it being hyped up on April 1st by Stuart Tyrrell Developments, which sells the Unipod upgrade and is linked with A9home manufacturer Advantage Six.
