On ARM-powered computer firm in RISC OS port talks :

"Much smaller memory" doesn't make a great deal of sense. I have one Iyonix with 1GB RAM and one with 512MB RAM, the one with the smaller amount of RAM isn't really very limiting at all under RISC OS. The only time the extra RAM really comes in useful is with Photodesk, which for a long time couldn't use it anyway. Improvements in performance are far more important than worrying about "only" having 512MB RAM in RISC OS.

On New RISC OS ownership claim may derail ROOL RiscPC ROM release:

rmac, I think the problem is that for most of the last decade, no-one has really been able to be sure of the difference between helpfully "banging heads together" and "destructive nonsense". Both nice phrases, but not exactly specific and measurable!

On another note... even a few African nations are better than none at all.

On RISC OS skills database website launches:

"Will be interesting to see how many people register and with what skills."

Paul and Keith demonstrated the test version of the site at ROUGOL's January meeting. Even with test data that was planned for deletion, it was very noticeable that a good number of people had signed up, with a very wide variety of skills on offer. The signing up process is very easy indeed, even if you're only able to offer yourself as a 'Novice' in only one or two areas, with limited time available or even "currently unavailable". So I would encourage people to sign up to the live version, and even more so I would encourage those running projects - or even considering starting them - to check out the resources list a little while from now, and think what they could get out of it.

"Sorry don't work for FREE. Sorry don't work on RiscOS"

So much for your attitude.

On South East 2007 show report:

"two guys holding everyone up" Guy Fawkes highwaymen at SE2007? How could this happen? I don't remember seeing this...

Monika has left EFF.

Great to see so many of you at the show, and even introduce some of you to each other :)

On South East 2007 show preview:

jc: "I'd be surprised if the comment from Paul wasn't taken out of context though."

Almost impossible - Paul talked about it at length, clarified it in response to questions, and re-iterated (part of) it after the meeting ended.

(I'm not the eyewitness quoted in the article, though, I didn't have time to email anything. Someone else was taking notes for Archive).
