I've seen and tested one. It was a while ago, but I seem to remember that the only advantage it had over the RiscPC in terms of speed was in the same situations that Kinetic also benefited from. Prodution machines would also had benefitted from better hard drive performance, but frankly in terms of speed improvement over the existing machines of the time, I don't think it would have made a big enough impact. Perhaps if it had had the 400Mhz CPU that Acorn wanted from Digital then things may have been different, but we know what happened to that. fwibbler on 29/10/07 4:34PM [ Reply | Permalink | Report ]

On RISC OS 5 core source release imminent:

Ahh! The old 'I don't need it and I can't understand why anyone else should need it, so no one else should' attitude. Personally I think that kind of attitude has done a lot of damage to the RISC OS market over the years. It has been far too prevelant in the RISC OS market for too long and has helped to hold back development and thus damaged the market. Anyone who's tried to print an A4 photo using Guten-print would benefit from a faster machine as would anyone who works on large images or gets fed up waiting for web pages to render.
