On Moving tributes to Paul Vigay flood in:

Very very sad indeed. Such a great man - and a hole never to be filled. As ever, my thoughts to his closest friends and family.

On Animation software collection falls into R-Comp's hands:

We used to use lots of Iota software 10 years' ago when we taught IT with Acorns! Those were the days. It's really good to see that this software has a new home and may get some further developments. Good luck to RComp!

On PhotoFiler handed out in free download:

This is an excellent program, far quicker than Select's thumbnailing and more comprehensive. Good news for everyone!

On Open source Organizer pondered:

This is a great program and, at some point in the past, I was looking forward to Pocketbook synchronisation! Alas that didn't quite make it into a realeased product. It's still a useful program (it always reminds me not to forget birthdays) and it would be brilliant to see its facilities extended a little. Good luck to anyone with the time (and skills) to take this on!

A low-cost computer-controlled Braille board has been prototyped by a RISC OS-using university student. Undergraduate Edward Rogers hopes to sell his completed units for as little as 200 quid each to schools and families to allow more blind children to continue learning Braille. And he said he wanted to launch his venture using RISC OS-powered kit before offering a package for other platforms.
