On Richard Brown takes over day-to-day running of ISP Orpheus:

I think that last comment a bit unfair. I never thought that Richard had much control with Oregano 3, and did put in a lot of money, before calling it a day. RISC OS users were never going to be willing to pay the sort of sums needed for break even on the project. With Orpheus he has a solid user base, and a good basic product (if a bit pricey by todays standards, but then how many ISPs offer email, webspace, newsgroups, and uncapped usage? I wish Richard the best of luck.

On Animation software collection falls into R-Comp's hands:

Nice to see the software has fallen into the hands of a company that will hopefully develop it more. Unlike others who buy up the software, and think thats enough to charge full price without updating. Well done Andrew & co.

On November news in brief:

Spheres of chaos does work on Iyonix, with Aemulor Pro. Mind you how the speed compares I wouldn't know. Its playable for me which might mean it's too slow for real gamers :)

On RISC OS Connect project lacking support:

I think this a fundemental problem all round. People want things done, but are not willing to chip in. Whilst no new products is affecting RISC OS as a whole, apathy will finally kill it off. We have become too reliant on a relatively few people, and when they don't have the time to work for RISC OS there is no-one to fill the gap. Most RISC OS programmers now have real jobs, and don't have the time or energy after a hard days slog to start serious RO programming.

On New high quality print drivers released:

In reply to AW why not follow the link. There are dozens of HP printers that are supported.

I was particuarly pleased to find my Samsung ML4600 works well with Gutenprint. Much better than the Ghostprint system.

It is a tad slow at times, but I find that I'm wasting far less paper now, as previous attempts with various drivers have resulted in garbage being churned out (for no apparent reason). Touch wood since GP has been installed I haven't I one problem.

Well done Martin for another brilliant product.
