On RISC OS 5 core source release imminent:

The most important and urgent task now that the source code has been released is for the developers to ensure that the code is tweaked so that it runs seamlessly on both Risc PC/Virtual Acorn type machines as well as the newer 32bit A9home/Iyonix type machines. The use does not want or need to worry about the history. Other development can wait until that is done. The sources also need to be distributed with a !SysMerge utility that will update any of these machines to have the latest modules (and module numbers) so that they are 32bit neutral (and RISC OS fork independent). Raising money against this aim would be much more worthwhile than the current 'Select' scheme.

In reply to diomus: Shame Adv6 won't be there and their web site (experienced user support) is just never updated. Good news is that the guarantee period for my A9home hasn't started yet and doesn't start until it's upgraded to the retail spec. - overall therefore quite a cheap (i.e. zero cost) form of extended guarantee...

Will the guys from Advantage6 be there to talk about the A9home? And about when flash 3 will arrive? Or should ROL have something to say on this? Is there a theatre slot for them?

On Select nets 1,000th subscriber:

I have just received Select 4 and then a resubscription notice. Suddenly I am thinking - what is the purpose of resubscribing? I have an A9 home, RiscPC and Iyonix. At the last show 'one off' copies of Select4/RiscOS6 were sold for £50. The Iyonix is already horribly non-standard over its use of the delete key which annoys me every time I use it - that's the fix I want for the Iyonix, not Select.
