On In brief: Acorn World show this weekend:

Looks like a great show, shame I couldn't go myself. Maybe next year...

On RISC OS Open seeks rep for Acorn World event:

Just guesswork here - I doubt there are any 'real' buisinesses in the RiscOS market anymore...

...'just' talented entusiasts. That being the case anyone can make arrangements with the best of intentions, but if LIFE(tm) gets in the way there won't necessarily be anyone to step in.

On ARM-powered computer firm in RISC OS port talks :

This IS good news indeed...(hopefully)

Genesi do have a proven track record for supporting minority platforms - MorphOS (an AmigaOS clone) for instance...

...from what I know them their point of view tends to be: If we've got the hardware & you can make it work then we'll support you.

I wonder, could this be a new opening for RiscOS to break into the developing 'lightweight' platform market? Ok, it's unlikely...

On Dual-head DVI ViewFinder graphics card announced:

'AIUI JK software is almost pure magic! Well its patching of the OS had to be quite hairy'

FWIW: A while ago I pointed a friend in the direction of JK's website for interest. He has an amazing ability to hack unexpected hardware into old computers - sadly he's not into Acorns. Having seen what JK did and examined the files available he was full of praise for what he regarded as a 'proper bit of hackery'. I certainly found a new appreciation for the work that must have gone into this GFX upgrade...
