On NetSurf on RISC OS faces axe:

60 .c files, 40 .h files, 1 .s file.

Totalling 41000 lines approx

And I doubt it'd pass code review if you closed your eyes, held your nose, and said "yeah whatever".

It's old crufty code and needs some serious loving.

On NetSurf on RISC OS faces axe:

Having a programmer who does nothing won't guarantee anything other than stagnation.

However, having a RO frontend coder will allow us to proceed with core changes without worrying about who will have to dive in and try and fix up the RO frontend when it breaks this time.

On RISC OS 5 pictured running on ARM Cortex-A8 kit:

As jmb said. For you to be able to have RO5 for free, someone has to be paying for the developers, for the hosting, for the bandwidth, power, offices if needed, etc.

Basically all the "Open Source" or "Free Software" movement gets you is the possiblity of seeing the source code and thus being able to change it yourself or fix bugs for yourself etc.

What it does not get you is a magic pill which causes it to cost no money.

Free speech != Free beer.

On RISCOS Ltd relaunches riscos.com with new design:

Indeed. The layout is poor and doesn't work properly in any browser I've tried.

Suffice it to say that I doubt it'll be being used on the NetSurf stand to show off 2.0.
