On New MSN client in development:

Parmesan. Makes perfect sense if you think about it (I did hear somewhere that it was originally going to be called Nobcheese, but I think parmesan is a better name).

Sa110 - yes you do. Grapevine is fairly annoying and expensive. Parmesan beta is already better in lots of ways.

hEgelia - nudges ARE essential. Oh yes they are.

Unfortunately, msn seems to be massively more widely used by the UK general public than most other IMs. Pleh.

On 'Community' newsgroup proposed for RISC OS users:

"Chris believes there should be a new, friendlier group created for 'off topic' posts. The comp.sys.acorn newsgroups have been recently plagued with discussions on cars, Microsoft Windows programming, cars....."

People can discuss all this and so much more on iconbar's playpen forum. :D

Be good to see more car discussions on there! ;)

On Fears over Omega refund saga:

Not that I want to defend microdigital per se, but just for a little balance, remember that there are some satisfied customers and that the Omega does work ;)

Picture exclusive - This grainy photograph shows a port of RISC OS 5, sourced from the RISC OS Open project, running on a Beagleboard - a device powered by a 600MHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor with a built-in graphics chip. The port, developed by Jeffrey Lee with help from Uwe Kall and ROOL staff, is seen as a major breakthrough for the shared-source project as it proves the OS can be ported to new hardware without the need for a large team of engineers.
