In reply to Michael Stubbs: Although you are correct in what you say (and I agree with you), it can also be said that the actions of David Atkins and MicroDigital have been somewhat different over recent months (even not so recent months). Yes, the Omega was horrifically pre-announced. However, although David himself readily admits that this was a mistake and that it has damaged his companies reputation slightly, I personally do not believe that it has damaged the market as a whole. It may have driven some people away from RISC OS, but then it may also have kept as many hanging on for far longer than they would have done without the Omega hope for the future. I should point out that MicroDigital no longer seem to pre-announce anything. This is wise. MicroDigital/David Atkins mays have acted in a un-professional manner in the past, but as with the pre-announcing, they seem to have learned from their mistakes and have not repeated them recently. This must surely be a good thing. They may have a little way to go in some areas but then they aren't the only RISC OS company that does. Cheers! On New RISC OS news site opens:

I think TIB and Drobe are sufficiently different for them not to be in direct competition. The style of Drobes layout allows for much more indepth view of each article/review, whereas TIB layout is suited better to brief news items on each thing. Different people like different styles. On Eureka unmasks Omega:

Amen to that! I'd much rather do my movie conversions/editing on RISC OS even if it means leaving the machine running all night while it chews data. I'd much rather do my music sampling on RISC OS too (though I really need an Iyonix for this). Every new thing I can do on RISC OS gets me one step further away from bloody Windows. Cheers! On Castle unleash Iyonix UDMA100:

He didn't say it would be smaller, he said it wouldn't be /much/ bigger. Personally, I don't care if the OS is held in ROM or on Disc. It's the dual boot system that annoys me with the way it wastes so much time. It may not be important to some people, but it is to me. I'm interested to find out what other improvements Castle have planned for OS 5. Hopefully I'll get a moment to speak to Jack at the Wakefield show. Cheers!
