em2ac: I wonder what the real characters thought?

Come to the ROUGOL meeting on 16th November and you can ask one of them! Steve Furber will be there talking about the creation of the BBC Micro and ARM.

Excellent new articles about Micro Men. Thanks. Reminds us why we already miss the old Drobe so much :-(

I enjoyed the programme, despite the obvious sexing up of the situations. It managed to present an exciting time in computing history in a way that would seem exciting even to non-geeks.

And it was funny too :-D

On In brief: Acorn World show this weekend:

I think you mean ROUGOL :-)

[link]

Was a fun show to attend, glad I made the long journey. The Acorn World room actually seemed far more lively than the main room, with lots of chatter compared to people just sitting quietly playing a game.

The biggest buzz I saw in the main room was when someone completed the marathon on Track & Field - 3 hours of button bashing!

For those that missed the show, Dave Moore of Retro Software and others will be bringing a subset of Acorn World along to the RISC OS London Show.

On In brief: Acorn World show this weekend:

There will be a small subset of the exhibitors from Acorn World at the London Show, including Retro Software. [link]

ROUGOL have a stand at Acorn World, so all those who never make it far enough south to meet us, do drop by to say hello!

On 'Threaded' Firefox for RISC OS build released to test:

diomus: "Prove me wrong"

That's easy, just look at the csa.announce and csa.programmer groups over the past six months :-)

But a lot of those will be BASIC programmers. The number comfortable working with 100000 lines of C code will be rather fewer :-(
