If you think that a C 'case' statement handling a WIMP reason is encoded as a string of comparisons, you're way off. Why exactly do you think this is a "bottleneck" anyway? Did you deliberately pick one of the MOST EFFICIENT dispatchers as your target for pointlessly changing?

"if Wimp_Init required a table of addresses to jump to for individual events."

Which is close enough to what it does do. List the messages it wants to receive in the init call and mask reasons in the poll call. The actual business of how it hops to the handler is insignificant.

  • Go-faster stripes for PC-format media access app
Fat32Fs, by Jeffrey Doggert, lets Iyonix users read from and write to large FAT-formatted media, such as Flash-based removable media. Drobe reader Richard Ashbery got in touch to say the software is now much faster - it can read 100MB of data off a Sandisk 4GB CF Extreme 3 card in 59 seconds and write it back in 57 seconds, showing write speeds have improved by a factor of four.
