People still haven't really explained what they expect to be able to do with this marvel of computing. What's the point of an OS on a new platform if there are no apps for it?

If you think that a C 'case' statement handling a WIMP reason is encoded as a string of comparisons, you're way off. Why exactly do you think this is a "bottleneck" anyway? Did you deliberately pick one of the MOST EFFICIENT dispatchers as your target for pointlessly changing?

"if Wimp_Init required a table of addresses to jump to for individual events."

Which is close enough to what it does do. List the messages it wants to receive in the init call and mask reasons in the poll call. The actual business of how it hops to the handler is insignificant.
