Realname: Jim Nagel
About me:Canadian by birth, lived in England since 1970. First BBC Micro in 1981 (still have it!), then Archimedes A420/1 (still have it!) and RiscPC (still my main machine); an Iyonix, Virtual Acorn on XP laptop and a Linux box are also on the network around here. Took over from Paul Beverley in September 2007 as editor and publisher of Archive magazine. Wrote the Acorn RiscOS column in Computer Shopper mag for many years. Do an editorial service from home and publish the odd book as Abbey Press; to make a change from peace&quiet of Somerset I sell my services to cover holidays etc on various magazines in London and The Times.

On Using shared source to brighten up the desktop:

Is it possible for some filer windows to be visually distinct from other windows? For instance, I'd really find it helpful to be able to tell at a glance whether a directory is on my duff hard drive (I would make it a pink background if I could) or on the new one (green background).
